Urban Ed Academy

THE ASK

Black men make up less than 2% of the U.S. public school teacher workforce. That is the story that Urban Ed Academy wanted to change when they came to YouthBeat.

THE ANSWER

Our team worked to run a full production including creative development, script, storyboarding, and casting to create a project that showcased Urban Ed Academy’s work in a beautiful way.

The idea was simple: Not all heroes wear capes.

The goal for the video was to inspire the next generation of Black teachers by showing how regular people can become heroes to the young people in their classrooms.

THE IMPACT

"I felt extremely welcomed by the entire cast and crew while working on this shoot. It was my first time working on production design and I was able to get a clear understanding and valuable hands-on experience by the time we wrapped that I have now taken with me as I work production design on other shoots."
